Profile of Central Sulawesi Province: The Land at the Heart of Sulawesi Island

 

Central Sulawesi is located in the central part of Sulawesi Island with an area of approximately 61,841 km². According to the latest data, it has a population of around 3.2 million people, consisting of more than 20 ethnic groups, including the Kaili, Lore, Pamona, Mori, Bungku, and Balantak peoples.

The capital city of this province is Palu, with administrative divisions consisting of 1 city and 12 regencies.

The main sources of income for Central Sulawesi Province come from agriculture, mining (gold and iron ore), fisheries/marine resources, and natural tourism, such as Lake Poso, Lore Lindu National Park, and Tomini Bay.
